Cutest Album with Authentique's Renew Collection

Good I would like to share with you the cutest album, full of lots of folds, flaps and pages.  I was digging through some of my photos and came across some older pictures of my kids.  I love these pictures, they are some of my favorite ones of them when they were little.  I saw this mini album several places online, so I know it has been done before, but this album was perfect for some of those favorite photos.  Let's get started.

You will need one 12 x 6 piece of cardstock or patterned paper, three 12 x 5.75 pieces of cardstock or patterned paper and two 5.5 x 5.5 pieces of cardstock or patterned paper.  For this project, I the patterned paper from the Renew Collection.  Authentique's patterned paper is perfect because it is so thick.

First score the 12 x 6 piece at 3 inches and then again at 2.5 inches.  Score it from each end.  Score the 12 x 5.75 pieces at 3 inches from each end.

Next, adhere all of the 12 x 5.75 pieces together, making a chain.

Turn the paper chain over and adhere the 12 x 6 paper to the middle of the connected 12 x 5.75 pieces of paper.

This is what it should look like.

Take your 5.5 x 5.5 pieces of paper and adhere them to the outside flaps of the 12 x 6 paper.  Leave an even border around all three edges.

Now you have a fun mini album ready to embellish and add pictures to.

There are so many fun folds and pages in this mini album, perfect for embellishing and adding photos.  As you can see off to the left I even added one the the Petite Folders to the album...adding just a bit more to the pages and folds.

There are lots of goodies and embellishments in this album...make it your own.  There are so many possibilities.

Pretty dang cool huh?  There is is much you can do with this album and with the Authentique's awesome makes it even that much more fun.

A Sweet Authentique Tutorial!

I love creating handmade embellishments for my scrapbooking layouts.  Today I want to share with you a tutorial on how to make a fun glittered pinwheel.  So, you will need:

Your favorite Authentique collection.  I used the new Sweetness Collection
Mod Podge or other adhesive.
A brush to smear on the Mod Podge.
A small wood dowel of shish kabob stick.
A brad.
Oh...don't forget the glitter!

Cut your paper down to a 4 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch square.  Mine paper is double sided.  It works best for these pinwheels.

Using a ruler, line up the corners and draw a line 1 3/4 inches from each corner.

Next, you will want to cut down each line you drew, so it looks like this.

Now, take your Mod Podge or other adhesive and start off by putting the adhesive on both side of the paper.

Dip both side into the glitter.

Do this to all the sides, front and back.

Now to make your pinwheel come to life.  Fold one of the cut corner and glue it to the center of the square, just like the picture shows.

Alternate the cuts, fold them over and glue them to the center.

This is what it should look like when you have all of your alternating cuts glued to the center.  Hold it down in the center to make sure it will stay.

Add your cute brad.  This pinwheel is not meant to spin.  It is just for looks.

Add it to your layout or other crafty project.  Just adhere the wood dowel to the pinwheel.

I love how it added some whimsical fun to this already adorable Sweetness Collection.  Thanks for popping in and taking a look at my tutorial today!

So what do you think?  Love it?  I do!  Just add your favorite colors to this collection and make it your own.  Also, make sure you are checking the Imaginisce Blog all week long to see projects made by the design team featuring Black Ice.  This is a week you won't want to miss.  Thanks for stopping by.
