Designer Spotlight on the Imaginisce Blog!

Today I am up on the Imaginisce Blog with a layout I made using the I-Top tool.  Lucky for you, you get to see it here too!

The I-Top tool has to be my favorite Imaginisce tools.  I don't know what I did without it and now, I love using it all of the time.  For this project, I decided to use my I-Top to make some centers for my flowers.  This is one of the things I love to do with my I-Top.  I love the that I can customize my projects by using my I-Top, making my projects one of a kind.  Here's a look at what I did.

What will you make using your I-Top?  Thanks for stopping by today!

A Clear Scraps 12x12 Tutorial!

Happy Monday!  Today I would like to share with you my last project for this month's July Kit.  I was excited to see that I got a 12x12 piece of Clear Scraps Acrylic in my kit.  I know I could probably do a lot with this 12x12 piece, but I decided to create a layout with it and I want to show you how I dressed it up.  Once again, I used the fun All American Collection from Bella Blvd that comes with the kit.  So, here is what you will need.
Your 12x12 piece of acrylic
A heat embossing gun
Your stamps
Some Perfect Medium or Versa Mark
Some embossing powder
Perfect Pearls
A fine tip brush

12x12 acrylic tutorial1
Using Perfect Medium or Vera Mark, apply it to your stamp.  I chose a star because it works well with the theme of the kit.  Once you do that, stamp it onto your clear acrylic.

Now, take your embossing powder and sprinkle it over where you stamped and then tap off all of the excess.  I learned that doing one stamp at time and then heat embossing it works the best.

Next heat emboss your image.  Make sure you move the heat gun around.  Your acrylic will want to warp a little.  Stop and move the gun away, flatten out your acrylic and then start again until your embossing powder has formed.

Take your Perfect Pearls and thin brush.  Dip your brush into the Perfect Pearls.  Just get a little on the end.  Lightly dab the Perfect Pearls in the negative space of the stamp.  You don't need a whole lot.

12x12 acrylic tutorial5

Lightly mist water over the top of the stamped image that has the Perfect Pearls in it.  You don't want a puddle on your acrylic.  I used a Mini Mister.  Then let it air dry.  The Perfect Pearls will set up and stay on your acrylic.

This is what it will look like.  I did this all over my layout to create the desired effect I wanted.

Clear Scraps Family Patriotic Album!

I am really loving the Clear Scraps Wordbooks.  In the July Kit, I received the Family Album combined with Clear Scraps Acrylic and Chipboard along with Bella Blvd's All American Collection.  This was my very first word album and I was excited to dig in and get to work.  To make this album stand out, I painted all the edges of this album with red acrylic paint.

I love to make my pages to pop, so you will see a lot of dimension in this album.  Aren't the Bella Blvd goodies just delish?

For the Love of Summer...Simple Stories!

One of the best things about summer is cream.  Around the Gubler house it often becomes a daily treat, but we have been know to eat it all year round.  Today I would like  here to share with you a couple of my projects using I Heart Summer.

Every year we have a Gubler Family Reunion.  On one of the days we all take a trip to Bear Lake to swim.  When we are done, we like to indulge in the famous raspberry shakes Bear Lake offers.  These two cuties are my niece and nephew enjoying their ice cream.

Cute Frame using Samantha Walker's Vinyl Word Art!

Good Sunday morning all.  I hope everyone has enjoyed their 4th of July holiday.  Today I wanted to share with you one of Samantha's Vinyl Word Arts SVG's, 'Chocolate and God', but I am not using it for vinyl today.  I am going to show you what I made with it and a fast and easy way to create this project.

I really love this saying because if you know me, you know I love chocolate.

So, here is a look at how I put this together.  I went into my Silhouette Library and double clicked on this image.

I need to change the size of this image so that it would fit in my frame.  Go to the Scale window and size your cut.  My frame is a 5x7, so I sized mine to 4.75 x 6.75.

I also wanted to take out the little circles out of the image so I right clicked and selected ungroup.  This will separate all of the parts of the image.  I then deleted the circles by clicking on them and hitting delete.  Then I grouped the whole image together again by right clicking and selecting group.  That way everything will be together.

Time to cut!  I set my blade to 5 and selected the Double Cut because the Carta Bella paper is thick.  Here it is.

Using the matting on the back of your frame, measure how big you would like the background  to be.

I wanted my cut to line up perfectly, so I used the negative part of the cut.

I used a couple of sticky tabs that didn't adhere to my paper permanently and lined it up on my background paper that will go into my frame.

Using liquid glue, I put all the letters back into the negative space.  Be careful not to use too much glue so it doesn't stick to the negative space.

Once you have glued your whole image down, peel it away very carefully.

This is what I ended up with.

See the cute flower.  That is also one of Samantha's cuts just called Flower.  So, if you want to search for it in the Silhouette online store, Flower is all you have to type in and it will come up.  It is a spiral flower.

The paper I used to make this project is the Boy and Girl Giddy Up Collection by Samantha Walker from Carta Bella.  Thanks for popping in and I hope you can use this tutorial to create something fun using one of Samantha's Vinyl quotes.
